Volcom's relationship with GOJIRA goes way back and we thought it was high time to celebrate this with a Limited Edition Tee & 7” Vinyl bundle, featuring unreleased music from the band and artwork from drummer, Mario Duplantier. Mario is known as one of the best metal drummers in the world, but only few know he’s a brilliant graphic artist too. After his artistic debut as part of Volcom’s "Featured Artist" Tee series, we organized two art shows (Biarritz and Bordeaux) in collaboration with Mario to show all his work.
The songs on the 7”, "END OF TIME" and "BLEEDING", have never been officially released, both were originally on GOJIRA’s 1997 “Possessed” demo when they were still performing under the name GODZILLA.
The whole bundle comes in a 12 inch vinyl package and will be available in select in participating UK Record Store Day stores on April 21st, European Volcom Stores, EMP, Listenable Records as well as the Volcom Entertainment webstore.
For those not familiar with GOJIRA, since their formation in 1996 in Bayonne in the south west of France, they have been an ever-evolving experiment in extreme metal, building upon their blend of technical and progressive instrumentation with lyrics that represent the members’ environmentally conscious world outlook. Rising to fame after several tours with Metallica, Slayer and Machine Head, GOJIRA has become one of the most important bands to emerge from France, if not all of Europe
