Mastodon will play four special headline shows in the UK in June in advance of their European summer tour with Metallica; opening these four UK shows will be Valient Thorr. These are Mastodon’s first UK shows in support of their groundbreaking new album, CRACK THE SKYE, released earlier this year in March. Valient Thorr, who will be returning to the UK for first time since the 2008 Download Festival, will be continuing to support their new album, IMMORTALIZER.

Atlanta, GA’s Mastodon’s CRACK THE SKYE is the band’s fourth album and follow up to their critically acclaimed 2006 release, “Blood Mountain.” CRACK THE SKYE, the seven-song, 50-minute album was recorded at Southern Tracks Studios in Atlanta and was produced and mixed by Brendan O'Brien, who was first introduced to the band by the E Street Band’s Max Weinberg.
